Security Officer – Moab, Utah

About the role

The Security Officer provides physical protection and surveillance of assets, personnel, and operations at the Moab and Crescent Junction sites for the Moab Uranium Mill Tailings Remedial Action (UMTRA) Project.

Key responsibilities

• Control access by checking badges/IDs at site entrances for employees and visitors.
• Transport train crew on the rail siding at Crescent Junction and escort personnel as needed.
• Conduct daily site inspections to ensure doors, gates, and the Crescent Junction water pond are secured and operating correctly.
• Report alarms, incidents, and any security concerns to project management.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including overtime, weekends, and night shifts.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background checks and drug testing.
• Capability to obtain U.S. Government clearance and a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) card.

Required skills

• Physical stamina and coordination to perform routine and emergency security duties.
• Strong mental alertness and ability to communicate clearly while using protective equipment.
