About the role
The State of Illinois Department of Corrections is seeking an experienced corrections leader to serve as Assistant Warden of Operations at Centralia Correctional Center. This senior position oversees critical facility operations, security, and support services to ensure a safe and well‑managed correctional environment.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, organize and direct overall operations, including security, physical plant, dietary services, custody discipline and logistical support.
- Conduct routine and unscheduled safety, health, sanitation and security inspections throughout the institution.
- Serve as Chair of the Adjustment Committee, making decisions on disciplinary matters involving individuals in custody.
- Provide input to develop and implement institutional rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Travel to attend management meetings, trainings and represent the institution to professional and lay audiences.
