Sales Associate

About the role

Talbots, an omni-channel retailer of women's clothing, shoes and accessories, is hiring a part-time Sales Associate for its store at The Shoppes at Flemington, NJ. The associate creates a customer-focused selling culture, helps build store business and works in a team environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver an exceptional customer service experience that promotes the products and builds brand relationships.
• Assist the management team in building store business and help lead or supervise others on occasion.
• Service multiple customers at once, multitask and handle projects simultaneously.
• Stay up to date on fashion trends and new arrivals, and use product knowledge to create outfits and suggest matching items.
• Communicate store information, brand initiatives and discrepancies to management.
• Achieve sales and service metrics, including the Talbots Classic Awards.
• Manage inventory according to policy, including filling orders, recalls, recovery, replenishment and re-ticketing.
• Plan and prioritize tasks to meet customer and business needs.
• Open and close the store when needed.

Required profile

• Customer-centric, driven to build relationships and able to work in a diverse team.
• Excellent verbal communication and integrity; comfortable standing for long periods, climbing ladders and lifting at least 40 lbs.
• Technological aptitude for POS, computer, iPad and handheld systems.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
