Room Service Order Taker / Dispatcher

About the role

The Loews Arlington Hotel, a large resort and meeting venue in Arlington's sports district serving 888 rooms, five dining venues, pools, spa services and 266,000 square feet of event space, is looking for a service-driven Room Service Order Taker. The person will be the voice behind the phone, guiding guests through menus, upselling with confidence and coordinating between guests, the kitchen and service teams.

Key responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls promptly and courteously, following Loews Hotels' service standards.
• Record food and beverage orders accurately in the POS system and confirm details with guests.
• Provide menu guidance, suggest enhancements and highlight specials.
• Coordinate with kitchen, bar and room service attendants for timely and accurate delivery.
• Handle special requests, dietary needs and additional amenities.
• Maintain organized logs of orders, calls and special instructions.
• Assist with inventory tracking for menus, promotional materials and supplies.
• Address guest concerns and escalate issues when necessary.
• Attend mandatory training sessions and meetings, and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Knowledge of food and beverage terminology and ability to learn upselling and order-taking procedures.
• Exceptional guest service and telephone skills.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
