Kitchen Staff

About the role

Opaa! Food Management, Inc. is hiring kitchen staff to prepare breakfast and/or lunch offerings and assist with serving lines, taking part in occasional catering functions and performing all kitchen positions. The company operates across 10 states and pays vary by state and position; a hiring manager discusses pay after applying.

Key responsibilities

• Set up serving lines daily, keep food at the right temperature and keep milk coolers stocked.
• Prepare foods according to the menu plan and Opaa! recipes, plan ahead for the next day's menus and batch cook to maintain quality.
• Operate slicers, mixers, grinders and other equipment with proper certification, and keep work areas clean and organized.
• Clean kitchen and cafeteria areas, equipment and dishes, and keep inventory organized using FIFO.
• Bake bread, cakes and cookies as required, and serve items with proper size and utensils.
• Follow HACCP procedures, keep daily production records, log food temperatures and follow meal patterns under HHFKA and CACFP regulations.
• Handle customer money, run a cash register or computer, complete paperwork, tray counts and meal reconciliation, and clock in and out in ADP.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED preferred, or up to one month of related experience.
• Able to read simple instructions and write simple correspondence.
• Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide, and to compute rates, ratios and percentages.

Required skills

• Use of kitchen equipment such as dishwasher, steamer/kettle, mixer, oven, stove, fryers, slicer and thermometers.
• Knowledge of HACCP and meal pattern requirements.
