Galley Supervisor

About the role

V2X builds smart solutions that integrate physical and digital infrastructure, and its Galley Supervisor oversees all Food Services activities as directed by the Galley Manager. The role focuses on kitchen operations, food preparation and inventory levels, and includes scheduling and training of employees. In the absence of the Galley Manager, the Supervisor acts as the Galley point of contact.

Key responsibilities

• Manage subcontractors covering food preparation, food serving, cashier operations, cleanliness of dining areas, serving lines, kitchens, temperature danger zones, dishwashing and storage areas in line with the PWS and SOPs.
• Ensure proper cooking techniques are applied according to standards such as NAVSUP P-486, P-7, P-476, P-580, the Armed Forces Recipe Service, and the Fat, Cholesterol and Calories List for General Messes.
• Maintain equipment accountability and serviceability, and manage stock levels, turn-ins and orders.
• Manage scheduling and training of the subcontractor workforce so they comply with PWS Direct requirements.
• Ensure all employees follow safety policies and regulations.
• Perform other duties and assignments as required.

Required profile

• At least five years of foodservice experience in military food services or cafeteria-style operations providing full meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner).
• At least one year as a food service manager or assistant manager.
• High school diploma; associate or bachelor's degree preferred; one year of related experience may substitute for one year of education if a degree is required.
• Current US driver's license and current CPR certification.
• Food service sanitation, food protection manager and safety training certification (e.g., ServSafe Manager) per P5010 requirements.
• Certified Culinary Certification from the American Culinary Federation for contractor chefs.
• Prior military personnel must be E-6 or above, former Mess Management Specialist or Culinary Specialist rating if in the Navy, or equivalent MOS in another service.
• Must be able to read and speak English.

• Computer literacy.
