Public Area Attendant (Part Time)

About the role

The Loews Arlington Hotel and Convention Center, a full-service resort and meeting destination in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, is hiring a part-time Public Area Attendant. The role covers cleaning and upkeep of public spaces such as lobbies, hallways, restrooms and common areas, and may also include occasional support as a Room Attendant or Restroom Attendant for special events.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and maintain public areas: sweep floors and sidewalks, clean doors, frames, signs and windows, dust and clean lobby areas, and clean and restock assigned restrooms
• Remove trash from assigned areas, turn lost-and-found items into Security, and report maintenance issues to Housekeeping
• Clean and sanitize public and back-of-house areas, and assist with general cleaning of guest rooms
• Use and maintain equipment such as vacuums, extractors, buffing machines, brooms, wet-vacuums and upholstery cleaners, and keep carpets, tile, cement, marble and glass clean
• Stock supplies from Receiving, keep the Housekeeping storeroom tidy and secure, and turn mattresses
• Clean chandeliers, elevator foyers, doors, tracks, stairwells, handrails, windows, door jams and fire boxes, replace burnt-out light bulbs, and wash guestroom glassware
• Take dirty linen to the laundry pickup areas, help Room Attendants with carts and caddies, and assist in preparing and deep cleaning VIP rooms
• Complete all daily cleaning tasks for the assigned public area on time, take trash to the compactor at the end of the day, and attend department meetings
• Perform as Restroom Attendant for special events and as Room Attendant on an emergency basis when required

Required profile

• Basic English language skills
• Able to push, stand, stoop, bend and repeatedly lift items up to 25 pounds during a shift
• Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
• Follows OSHA regulations and Housekeeping policies, and complies with hotel safety, uniform and grooming standards
