RN Supervisor – Centralized Monitoring (Night Shift)

About the role

The RN Supervisor will lead the night‑shift team in Ochsner’s Virtual Care Center, a centralized monitoring model that uses telemetry, virtual fall prevention and real‑time escalation to improve patient safety across multiple hospitals.

Key responsibilities

• Organize, plan and supervise coordinated patient care within the unit, including medication administration and IV initiation.
• Supervise, develop and evaluate assigned nurses and technicians, ensuring adherence to nursing protocols and evidence‑based practice.
• Manage shift staffing, scheduling and clinical supplies to support continuous operations.
• Collaborate with quality, safety and patient experience leadership to promote safety processes and resolve conflicts.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school; BSN required for Ochsner Magnet facilities.
• Current RN license in the state of practice and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• At least 1 year of relevant RN experience (or 2 years as an LPN in acute care).

Required skills

• Proficiency with computers, software and web‑based applications.
• Strong problem‑solving ability and capacity to assess medical needs quickly.
• Effective verbal and written communication for presenting information to diverse audiences.
