Transfer Center Coordinator – Mid‑shift (11am‑11pm)

About the role

The Transfer Center Coordinator works as a dispatcher to coordinate patient transportation, manage psychiatric placement requests, operate the bed board, and support tele‑medicine calls. The position operates on a mid‑shift schedule (11 am‑11 pm) at the Elmwood location.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate all transport orders by acting as a dispatcher and handling overflow phone calls.
• Process acute behavioral health placement requests, verify referral information, and submit electronic evaluations.
• Provide customer service to physicians, nurses, administrators, and other stakeholders via phone and in‑person interactions.
• Facilitate time‑sensitive tele‑medicine consultations and create tickets in the Epic system.
• Manage bed assignments across campuses by controlling the centralized bed board.

Required profile

• Completion of an accredited LPN program or a bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum two years of LPN experience (or a bachelor’s degree in lieu of experience).
• Current LPN license in the state of practice.
• Ability to work extended shifts of 8‑12 hours with minimal supervision.

Required skills

• Proficiency with computers, software, and web‑based applications.
• Experience using the Epic electronic health record system.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Strong customer‑service phone skills and multitasking ability.
