RN Shift Manager – Medical Telemetry (Part-Time, P-Shift) + Sign‑on Bonus

About the role

The Nursing Shift Manager (NSM) leads the Medical Telemetry unit during assigned shifts, ensuring safe, high‑quality patient care. This part‑time, P‑Shift position offers a sign‑on bonus and the chance to mentor staff in a 2,000‑employee hospital.

Key responsibilities

• Enforce hospital safety policies, monitor staff compliance, and coach team members on infection prevention, safe patient handling, and central line care.
• Provide direct nursing care, medication administration, patient/family education, and accurate documentation of all care activities.
• Review and co‑sign admission assessments for LPNs, give constructive feedback, and support quality improvement initiatives.
• Communicate pertinent patient information to physicians, families, and interdisciplinary team members to enhance outcomes.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
• Current RN license in Missouri (or Compact) and at least one year of RN experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lb, stand, walk, and perform frequent physical tasks.
• Strong critical‑thinking and communication skills to guide staff and resolve patient concerns.

Required skills

• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
• Proficiency in central line maintenance and infection‑prevention protocols.
