RN Shift Manager – Medical Oncology (Full‑Time, P Shift)

About the role

The Nursing Shift Manager (NSM) leads the Medical Oncology unit during the P shift, ensuring safe, high‑quality patient care while supporting the nursing team.

Key responsibilities

• Enforce hospital safety policies, monitor staff compliance, and coach team members on infection prevention, safe patient handling, and central line care.
• Provide direct nursing care, medication administration, patient and family education, and documentation in line with quality and safety standards.
• Oversee quality initiatives, conduct assessments, review and cosign LPN admission assessments, and give constructive feedback.
• Communicate patient information to physicians, families, and staff, and manage service recovery and follow‑up concerns.
• Maintain staffing logs, daily sheets, and other NSM paperwork, and delegate tasks to promote teamwork and accountability.

Required profile

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
• Current RN license in Missouri (or Compact) and Basic Life Support certification.
• At least one year of registered nursing experience preferred.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 35 lb, constant walking, and standing.

Required skills

• Knowledge of infection control, central line maintenance, and surgical site infection prevention.
• Proficiency in patient assessment, documentation, and quality monitoring.
• Strong communication skills for interaction with physicians, patients, families, and staff.
