RN Shift Manager - ICU (Full Time, P-Shift)

About the role

The Nursing Shift Manager (NSM) leads the ICU unit during a designated shift, ensuring safe, high‑quality patient care and supporting staff in delivering life‑saving services.

Key responsibilities

• Enforce hospital safety policies, monitor staff compliance, and coach team members on infection prevention, safe patient handling, and central line care.
• Provide direct nursing care, medication administration, patient/family education, and accurate documentation while meeting quality and safety standards.
• Assess patient status, review and co‑sign LPN admission assessments, and give constructive feedback to improve performance.
• Communicate pertinent patient information to physicians, staff, and families, and handle service recovery and follow‑up concerns.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
• Current RN license in Missouri (or compact licensure) and Basic Life Support certification.
• At least one year of registered nursing experience preferred.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 35 lb, constant walking, and standing.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (American Heart Association)
