RN – Pre & Post‑Surgical General Surgery

About the role

The Registered Nurse will provide pre‑ and post‑operative care for adult and geriatric patients undergoing general, breast, gynecology, pancreatic/liver, and urology surgeries at Hillcrest Hospital’s 3 West Tower Medical Care unit.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care and implement patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patients’ conditions, updating plans of care as needed.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to nursing protocols.
• Educate patients and families, addressing cultural and special concerns.
• Coordinate discharge planning and ensure smooth transitions of care.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Diploma, ADN, or BSN).
• Current state RN licensure.
• At least one year of acute‑care RN experience in a hospital setting (military RN experience considered).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• RN licensure and ability to administer medications.
