About the role

Join Ochsner’s MedSurg team as a PRN Registered Nurse working night shifts on the swingbed unit. This position provides direct patient care while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to achieve optimal outcomes.

Key responsibilities

Apply the nursing process to deliver safe, high‑quality patient care.
Assess learning needs of patients and families and provide appropriate education.
Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources effectively.
Utilize data and evidence‑based practice to drive improvements in patient outcomes.

Required profile

Graduate of an accredited nursing school (required).
Current RN license in the state of practice.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in nursing and specialty certification.

Required skills

Proficiency with computers, software, and web‑based applications.
Effective verbal and written communication.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time‑management abilities.
