About the role

Join Ochsner’s MedSurg team as a PRN RN on swingbed dayshift, providing high‑quality patient care in a collaborative environment. This position emphasizes leadership in nursing practice, cultural sensitivity, and alignment with Ochsner’s mission of exceptional care.

Key responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to deliver safe, evidence‑based patient care and achieve optimal outcomes.
• Assess learning needs, educate patients and families, and adapt communication to diverse cultural, ethnic, and religious backgrounds.
• Delegate, direct, and collaborate with licensed and ancillary team members, serving as a leader on the interdisciplinary team.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, accreditation standards, and Ochsner’s privacy and conduct policies.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
• Current RN license in the state of practice and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• No prior work experience required; certification in a clinical specialty area is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with computers, software applications, and web‑based tools.
• Effective verbal and written communication, strong interpersonal abilities, and sound judgment.
