RN - Medical Oncology | 0.9 Full-Time, A-Shifts

About the role

Phelps Health is seeking a Registered Nurse specialized in Medical Oncology to provide direct patient care on A‑shifts. This position offers a 0.9 full‑time schedule within a 2000‑employee hospital serving small‑town Missouri.

Key responsibilities

• Follow hospital policies for patient safety, infection prevention, safe handling, and critical lab notification.
• Maintain and care for central lines, prevent surgical site infections, and administer medications and nursing interventions.
• Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments, document care activities, and communicate information to physicians and the care team.
• Educate patients and families, delegate tasks appropriately, and foster teamwork and accountability.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Current RN license in Missouri or Compact licensure; graduate nurses must obtain licensure within 90 days.
• One year of experience preferred, but new graduates are considered.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
