RN - Medical ICU

About the role

The Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) at Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital is a 26‑bed unit caring for patients with complex medical conditions such as sepsis, stroke, DKA and post‑cardiac arrest. As a Registered Nurse you will provide direct, high‑quality care throughout the patient journey, interacting with patients and families to enhance their experience and deliver education.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care, administer medications and treatments, and execute physician and nursing orders.
• Develop, monitor, and update individualized patient care plans, documenting patient status and communicating changes to the care team.
• Assess discharge needs, coordinate transitions of care, and educate patients and families on health management.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Diploma, ADN or BSN) with current RN licensure.
• Basic Life Support certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support required for critical‑care areas within the first year.
• At least one year of acute‑care RN experience or equivalent military RN experience.

Required skills

• Proficiency in patient assessment, documentation, and care plan development.
• Ability to administer IV medications, operate ICU equipment, and respond to emergencies.
