New Grad RN Resident - Med/Surg and Oncology

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital is seeking a New Graduate RN Resident to join its Parkview I Oncology and Women’s Health unit. This night‑shift position (7:00 pm‑7:30 am) provides hands‑on patient care while participating in a one‑year accredited Nurse Residency program.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care alongside a success coach on a Med/Surg and Oncology unit.
• Establish and revise patient care priorities based on acuity, patient preference, and resource availability.
• Respond to clinical data indicating patient risk and initiate corrective actions.
• Seek supervision or assistance when unable to perform tasks safely and independently.
• Document all care activities accurately in patients’ medical records.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited ADN or BSN nursing program.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• New graduate or less than one year of acute inpatient RN experience.
• Chemo‑competent within the first six months of hire; additional training in end‑of‑life care and IV therapy.
• If assigned to a Critical Care area, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within the first year.

Required skills

• Chemo‑administration competency.
• Intravenous (IV) therapy skills.
