About the role

Join Ochsner’s Emergency Department as a Registered Nurse on the West Bank day shift. You will provide high‑quality patient care, lead the nursing team, and contribute to the unit’s strategic goals in a fast‑paced, diverse environment.

Key responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Delegate, direct, and assist licensed and ancillary team members while ensuring quality outcomes.
• Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams and educate patients and families.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and accreditation standards.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Current BLS certification; CPI certification within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to lift 10‑50 lb regularly and work in a patient‑care environment.

Required skills

• Computer proficiency with web‑based applications.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (within 90 days of hire).
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (within 90 days of hire).
