RN Educator

About the role

The Nurse Educator supports the educational and development needs of nursing staff, ensuring they have the knowledge and skills to provide high‑quality, competent care for patients and families.

Key responsibilities

• Support educational needs for assigned units through classroom, clinical experiences, and learning technologies.
• Implement comprehensive education programs for orientation, competency, and professional development, especially for critical care units.
• Ensure program revisions meet departmental and regulatory standards and adhere to national education practice standards.
• Utilize performance improvement tools to evaluate and enhance continuing education, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to preceptors and nurse residents.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school with a BSN; MSN or education degree preferred.
• At least five years of clinical nursing experience and one year of adult teaching experience.
• Current RN license in Missouri (or Compact State) and BLS certification.
• Strong organization, critical thinking, and writing abilities.

Required skills

• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
