Revenue Tax Auditor Supervisor

About the role

The Louisiana Department of Revenue seeks a Revenue Tax Auditor Supervisor to lead and coordinate tax audit activities across the state and other U.S. locations. This position supports the Revenue Tax Auditor Manager, Assistant Director, or Director in ensuring accurate, fair, and efficient tax administration.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior leadership in supervising a team of Revenue Tax Auditors operating throughout Louisiana and additional U.S. sites.
• Accompany auditors on pre‑audit and post‑audit interviews with taxpayers, their accountants, IT personnel, and legal counsel to explain procedures and audit outcomes.
• Assign case inventories, determine appropriate audit actions, and plan workload, deadlines, and priorities.
• Monitor auditor performance standards, conduct performance evaluations, and ensure compliance with state civil service specifications.

Required profile

• Seven years of experience in tax accounting or tax auditing; OR six years of full‑time experience in any field plus 24 semester hours in accounting and four years of tax accounting/auditing experience; OR a bachelor’s degree with 24 semester hours in accounting and four years of tax accounting/auditing experience; OR a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, management, economics, or statistics with four years of tax accounting/auditing experience; OR an advanced degree in accounting, finance, business administration, management, economics, quantitative methods, statistics, or a Juris Doctorate with three years of tax accounting/auditing experience; OR a CPA license or a current Louisiana law license with two years of tax accounting/auditing experience.
• Experience substitution: every 30 semester hours earned counts as one year of experience, up to a maximum of 120 semester hours.
