Restaurant Host/Hostess

About the role

The Loews Arlington Hotel, part of Loews Hotels & Co., is hiring a warm and welcoming Host/Hostess as its first point of contact for guests. The role sets the tone for the dining experience by managing reservations and guest flow in a resort and meetings environment serving 888 rooms, five dining venues, pools, spa services and 266,000 square feet of event space.

Key responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and professionally upon arrival
• Manage reservations, walk-ins and waitlists using the hotel's reservation system
• Escort guests to their tables and provide menus
• Communicate estimated wait times and accommodate special seating requests when possible
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the host stand and entrance area
• Answer phone calls and help with questions about hours, menus and reservations
• Coordinate with servers and managers for timely seating and guest satisfaction
• Monitor dining room flow and adjust seating plans as needed
• Assist with guest recovery and resolve minor concerns empathetically
• Follow hotel policies and procedures, attend regularly and perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• Previous experience in hospitality, customer service or restaurant hosting preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and stay calm in a fast-paced environment
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays
• Physical ability to stand for long periods and move around the restaurant

Required skills

• Familiarity with reservation systems
• Basic computer skills
