Remote Tax Accountant (Family Office)

About the role

We are a busy family office with a real‑estate focus seeking an experienced Tax Accountant to join our remote tax team. The role offers a professional environment with minimal overtime and the ability to work from anywhere in the US.

Key responsibilities

• Review accounting records, prepare adjusting entries, and assemble complete workpaper files.
• Prepare federal and state tax returns (1065, 1040, 1041).
• Prepare tax projections and estimate calculations.
• Perform fixed‑asset accounting, personal property tax, and business‑license reporting.
• Conduct tax research to resolve issues encountered during preparation.
• Maintain active communication with co‑workers.
• Follow prescribed procedures, rules, and laws while seeking process improvements.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of experience in public accounting.
• At least three years of recent tax experience; experience in a family‑office environment preferred.
• Ability to pass a satisfactory background check.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• UltraTaxCPA experience is a plus (not required).
