Remote Computer Science Expert

About the role

Turing, a leading AI research accelerator, is seeking PhD‑level computer science experts to help fine‑tune and evaluate large language models such as ChatGPT. This remote contractor position focuses on creating and assessing challenging, conceptual computer‑science problems that probe advanced AI reasoning.

Key responsibilities

• Design advanced computer‑science problems covering algorithms, systems design, cybersecurity, theory, databases, networks and related domains.
• Develop clear, step‑by‑step reference solutions with rigorous logic and well‑structured explanations.
• Evaluate AI‑generated responses for correctness, reasoning quality, completeness, clarity and alignment with problem requirements.
• Identify flaws, gaps, edge cases and near‑miss reasoning patterns in AI outputs.
• Collaborate with researchers to refine benchmarks across undergraduate to PhD‑level topics.
• Provide structured feedback to improve problem quality, benchmark reliability and model evaluation standards.

Required profile

• PhD in Computer Science or a closely related field (completed or pursuing).
• Strong computer‑science reasoning and problem‑solving skills across advanced domains.
• Ability to design conceptual problems that require deep understanding rather than simple recall.
• Excellent written communication with the ability to explain complex technical ideas clearly.
• High attention to detail when evaluating reasoning, assumptions, definitions, edge cases and solution validity.
• Capability to provide structured, high‑quality feedback on AI‑generated responses.
• No prior AI experience required.
