Registered Respiratory Therapist – Neonatal ICU

About the role

The Registered Respiratory Therapist will work night shifts in the Neonatal ICU at Fairview Hospital, providing advanced airway and ventilation care to critically ill newborns and infants. You will collaborate with physicians and nurses to develop and implement individualized respiratory treatment plans.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, treat, and monitor patients with respiratory insufficiencies, including mechanical ventilation and airway management.
• Perform advanced respiratory modalities, administer medications, and conduct blood gas puncture and analysis.
• Educate patients and families about respiratory conditions and community support resources.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree from a CoARC‑accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the NBRC and Ohio Respiratory Care Professional licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Required skills

• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• Neonatal Pediatric Specialist (NPS) certification.
• Proficiency with mechanical ventilation and blood gas analysis.
