Registered Polysomnographic Technician

About the role

The Sleep Disorders Center at Mercy Hospital, part of the Cleveland Clinic Health System, is seeking a Registered Polysomnographic Technician to conduct overnight sleep studies. You will work nights, providing direct patient care and ensuring high‑quality diagnostic testing.

Key responsibilities

• Perform basic and advanced diagnostic sleep studies, preparing patients and equipment.
• Interview patients to identify sleep disorder issues and explain procedures.
• Monitor patients throughout testing, intervene as necessary, and document results.
• Score, interpret, and report study findings.
• Calibrate, repair, and maintain sleep study equipment; report needed repairs.
• Conduct quality assurance activities and train non‑registered or trainee caregivers.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) certification under BRPT guidelines.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or Red Cross).
• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lb, and work night shifts.

Required skills
