About the role

The Registered Nurse provides direct patient care in the surgical orthopedics unit, ensuring safety, quality, and patient education during the A‑Shift.

Key responsibilities

Follow hospital policies for infection prevention, safe patient handling, and critical lab notification.
Maintain and care for central lines and prevent surgical site infections.
Administer medications, perform nursing interventions, and educate patients and families.
Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments and document all care activities.
Communicate patient information to physicians and team members to improve outcomes.

Required profile

Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
Current RN license in Missouri (or Compact licensure) – graduates must obtain licensure within 90 days.
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
One year of nursing experience preferred.
