Registered Nurse – Surgical ICU

About the role

Join the Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Fairview Hospital, a Magnet‑recognized facility, to provide high‑quality care for a diverse surgical population. You will work directly with patients and families, delivering comprehensive nursing care throughout the patient journey.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care and implement, monitor, and update patient care plans.
• Record, document, and communicate patient conditions, administer medications and treatments, and follow physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate discharge needs and educate patients and families.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Diploma, ADN or BSN) with current RN licensure.
• Basic Life Support certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support required within the first year for critical‑care areas.
• At least one year of acute‑care RN experience or licensed military RN experience.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ventilators and invasive monitoring equipment (ICP, pulmonary artery catheter, continuous cardiac output monitoring).
• Experience using continuous renal replacement therapy, intra‑aortic balloon pumps, and multi‑channel infusion pumps.
