About the role

The Registered Nurse (RN) in Psychiatry provides direct patient care on the inpatient psychiatric unit, following the nursing process and adhering to the ANA Code of Ethics. This role supports safe, high‑quality care for patients with mental health needs.

Key responsibilities

Follow hospital policies for patient safety, infection prevention, safe handling, and critical lab notification.
Maintain and care for central lines, prevent surgical site infections, and administer medications.
Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments, document care activities, and communicate findings to physicians and the care team.
Educate patients and families, delegate tasks appropriately, and foster teamwork.

Required profile

Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
At least one year of nursing experience preferred.
Current RN license in Missouri or Compact licensure; graduate nurses must obtain licensure within 90 days.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Required skills
