About the role
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care in the OB/Nursery unit at Phelps Health Hospital, working all shifts. The role involves delivering safe, high‑quality nursing care while supporting patients, families, and the healthcare team.
Key responsibilities
- Follow hospital policies for patient safety, infection prevention, safe handling, and critical lab notification.
- Maintain and care for central lines, prevent surgical site infections, and administer medications.
- Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments, document care activities, and communicate findings to physicians and team members.
- Educate patients and families, delegate tasks appropriately, and foster teamwork and accountability.
Required profile
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Current RN license in Missouri (or Compact licensure) – graduates must obtain licensure within 90 days.
- One year of nursing experience preferred.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Required skills
