Registered Nurse – Medical Oncology (Weekend Option)

About the role

Phelps Health is seeking a full‑time Registered Nurse to join the Medical Oncology team on a weekend shift. The RN will provide direct patient care, administer medications, and educate patients and families while adhering to hospital policies and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Follow hospital policies for patient safety, infection prevention, and safe handling.
• Maintain and care for central lines and prevent surgical site infections.
• Administer medications, perform nursing interventions, and provide patient/family teaching.
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments and document all care activities.
• Communicate patient information to physicians and team members to improve outcomes.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current RN license in Missouri or Compact licensure; graduates must obtain licensure within 90 days.
• One year of nursing experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and perform frequent walking and standing.

Required skills

• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Competence in central line maintenance and infection control practices.
