Registered Nurse – Medical ICU (Night Shift)

About the role

The Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) at Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital is a 26‑bed unit caring for patients with complex medical conditions such as sepsis, stroke, DKA, and post‑cardiac arrest. This full‑time night‑shift RN will provide direct patient care, education, and coordination throughout the patient journey.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care and implement patient care plans.
• Monitor, document, and communicate patient conditions and vital signs.
• Administer prescribed medications, treatments, and respond to physician orders.
• Educate patients and families on health status and discharge planning.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Diploma, ADN, or BSN).
• Current state RN licensure and one year of acute‑care RN experience (or military RN experience).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required for critical‑care areas.
• Ability to work night shifts with rotating weekends and holidays.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• RN licensure and medication administration competence.
