About the role

The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide high‑quality care on the ICU Stepdown unit during night shifts, applying the nursing process and adhering to the Nurse Practice Act, ANA standards, and Ochsner’s philosophy of nursing.

Key responsibilities

Utilize the nursing process to deliver patient care and assess learning needs of patients and families.
Delegate, direct, and assist licensed and ancillary team members while leading interdisciplinary collaboration.
Evaluate data and promote changes to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Maintain cultural sensitivity and respect patient privacy in all interactions.
Stay current with federal, state, and local regulations and ensure compliance.

Required profile

Graduate of an accredited nursing school; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Current RN license in the state of practice.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, organizational, and time‑management skills.
Proficiency with computers, software, and web‑based applications.
