Radiologic Technologist – OR/Pain Management (Part‑Time)

About the role

Ochsner is seeking a part‑time Radiologic Technologist to provide imaging services in the operating room and pain‑management settings. The role involves performing routine radiographic procedures safely, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring high‑quality diagnostic images.

Key responsibilities

• Verify physician orders and ensure correct procedure selection.
• Operate radiographic equipment independently, including placement of tubes, IVs, catheters, and administration of contrast as required.
• Review images for diagnostic quality before transmission and perform timely quality‑control checks.
• Utilize the Radiology Information System to document care and facilitate departmental operations such as inventory and equipment maintenance.
• Explain procedures to patients, adapt communication to diverse patient populations, and maintain patient privacy.

Required profile

• Completion of an approved radiologic technology program.
• ARRT registration (or eligibility within 90 days) and a current unrestricted state license.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• No prior experience required; radiologic technology experience is preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency in operating radiographic imaging equipment.
• Experience with Radiology Information Systems (RIS) and other web‑based applications.
• Computer and software literacy for documentation and quality‑control tasks.
• Ability to administer contrast agents and manage related equipment.
