About the role

This position provides supervisory and direct patient care responsibilities for a step‑down ICU unit during day shifts. The RN Supervisor leads a team of nurses and technicians, ensuring high‑quality, evidence‑based care while supporting staff development.

Key responsibilities

Administer medications, start IVs, and coordinate patient discharges with the healthcare team.
Organize, plan, and supervise coordinated patient care within the unit.
Develop, evaluate, and mentor assigned nursing staff and patient care technicians.
Promote adoption of nursing protocols and evidence‑based practice guidelines.
Manage shift conflicts, schedule staffing, and ensure necessary clinical supplies are available.
Collaborate with quality, safety, and patient experience leadership to enhance care processes.

Required profile

Graduate of an accredited nursing school with a BSN (required for Ochsner Magnet facilities).
Minimum 1 year of RN experience in acute care or 2 years LPN experience in acute care.
Current state RN license and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
