Registered Nurse – Emergency Dept, Full‑Time Mid Shift with $5k Sign‑On

About the role

Phelps Health Hospital is seeking a full‑time Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department on mid‑shifts (1 p.m.–1 a.m. & 3 p.m.–3 a.m.). The position includes a $5,000 sign‑on bonus and offers the chance to provide life‑saving care in a supportive, fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care following hospital policies on safety, infection prevention, and safe patient handling.
• Maintain central lines, prevent surgical site infections, and administer medications.
• Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments, document care activities, and communicate findings to physicians and the care team.
• Educate patients and families, delegate tasks appropriately, and foster teamwork.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current RN license in Missouri (or Compact licensure) – graduates must obtain licensure within 90 days.
• One year of nursing experience preferred.

Required skills

• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC).
• Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC).
• Mandt training course.
