About the role

The Clinical Decision Unit at Akron General Hospital is a fast‑paced, acute‑care medical unit located on the cardiac telemetry floor. This night‑shift RN position provides direct patient care for a high‑turnover population with stays under 24 hours, supporting a wide range of medical diagnoses.

Key responsibilities

Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for assigned patients.
Administer medications, treatments and document all care accurately.
Monitor patient conditions, recognize changes, and respond promptly.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes and participate in quality‑improvement initiatives.
Delegate tasks, serve as a resource for staff, and maintain required certifications.

Required profile

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Diploma, ADN or BSN).
Current state RN licensure.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Ability to work nights (7 PM – 7:30 AM) including every other weekend and three holidays per year.
Physical ability to lift patients and perform duties in a stressful, fast‑moving environment.
