Registered Nurse – Behavioral Health (Residency)

About the role

The RN Behavioral Health Resident will join the 5th Floor Complex Medicine Unit at Marymount Hospital, providing direct care to adult medical‑surgical patients in a telemetry setting. This one‑year accredited residency offers hands‑on training, simulation labs, and mentorship to develop strong clinical judgment.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in the residency core curriculum tailored to individual learning needs.
• Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach.
• Establish and revise patient care priorities based on acuity, preferences, and resources.
• Respond to clinical data indicating patient risk and take corrective action.
• Seek supervision or assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.
• Document all care activities accurately in patients’ medical records.

Required profile

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program (Diploma, ADN, or BSN).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• New graduate or less than one year of acute direct patient care experience.
• Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
