Registered Nurse – Post Anesthesia Care Unit

About the role

The Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at Marymount Hospital provides care for patients recovering from surgery while anesthesia wears off. The RN will also assist anesthesia in the pre‑operative area with regional blocks and joint procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care and implement patient care plans in the PACU.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patients’ conditions and adjust plans of care as needed.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to nursing protocols.
• Assist with pre‑operative regional blocks and large joint procedures.
• Educate patients and families, coordinate discharge needs, and document physician and nursing orders.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• At least one year of acute‑care RN experience (military RN experience considered).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Required skills

• RN licensure.
