Registered Echo Technician

About the role

The Echo/Vascular Sonographer provides diagnostic patient care using ultrasound and related procedures, supporting cardiac and vascular imaging in a hospital setting.

Key responsibilities

• Follow hospital policies for patient safety, infection prevention, and critical findings notification.
• Perform clinical assessments and diagnostic sonography examinations, adapting procedures to patient anatomy and pathology.
• Analyze sonograms, synthesize information with medical history, and communicate findings to physicians.
• Maintain ultrasound equipment, clean machines regularly, and report malfunctions or supply needs.
• Participate in laboratory accreditation and quality assurance activities.

Required profile

• Graduate of a Cardiac/Vascular Sonographer program.
• At least one year of adult cardiac or vascular sonography experience.
• RDCS and/or RVT certification; must be registered in Echocardiography or Vascular Ultrasound within 18 months of hire.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
• Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 150 lb, and perform physically demanding tasks.
