About the role

The Registered Dietitian provides individualized medical nutrition therapy, education, and counseling to patients at Marymount Hospital and supports the Southpoint Hospital rotation on a shared weekend schedule.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and implement personalized nutrition care plans, document progress, and adjust diet orders as needed.
  • Assess patients for nutritional deficiencies, evaluate fluids and electrolytes, and communicate findings to physicians.
  • Create and update patient education materials and participate in program development.
  • Serve as a preceptor for dietetic interns and teach classes.

Required profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, dietetics or a related field.
  • Current state licensure to practice dietetics and active Registered Dietitian (RD) certification.
  • At least one year of clinical nutrition experience (or completion of a dietetic internship).

Required skills

  • Medical nutrition therapy and diet order modification.
  • Nutrition assessment, including nutrient intake and laboratory review.
  • Patient education and counseling techniques.
