Refractive Surgical Consultant – East Region

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Refractive Surgical Consultant to support the East region with post‑install sales and technical expertise for its WaveLight® suite of products. You will partner with account managers and the refractive team to ensure smooth sales processes and product adoption.

Key responsibilities

• Provide on‑label post‑install sales support and technical selling for WaveLight® products, emphasizing premium procedural sales.
• Collaborate with WaveLight Managers, Division Manager and the Refractive team to meet regional sales objectives and adoption goals.
• Consult with physicians, surgeons, key opinion leaders and decision‑makers to drive product usage and address technical questions.
• Maintain high‑level technical knowledge of existing and new surgical products and manage assigned sales objectives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (high school + 13 yrs, Associate + 9 yrs, M.S. + 2 yrs).
• Minimum 5 years of relevant sales or consulting experience in ophthalmic refractive technologies.
• Demonstrated track record of sales achievements and strong communication skills in English.

Required skills

• Technical expertise with WaveLight® Excimer, WaveLight® Femto, Contoura, WaveLight Plus and related consumables/disposables.
• Advanced ophthalmic surgical/technical skills and experience consulting in an operating‑room setting.
• Strong knowledge of refractive diagnostics and ability to present technical information to clinicians.
