Rapid Observation RN – Night Shift

About the role

The Clinical Decision Unit at Fairview Hospital provides short‑term care for patients expected to be discharged or admitted within 18 hours. This night‑shift RN position delivers direct patient care, education, and coordination throughout the patient journey.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care, administer medications and treatments, and follow physician and nursing orders.
• Monitor, document, and communicate patient conditions; develop, update, and evaluate care plans.
• Assess discharge needs, coordinate with interdisciplinary team, and educate patients and families.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Diploma, ADN or BSN).
• Current state RN licensure and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• At least one year of acute‑care RN experience or equivalent military RN experience.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to perform full‑range body motions, lift patients, and work under stressful, irregular hours.
