Quality & Food Safety – Pasta Quality Associate

About the role

The Pasta Quality Associate ensures Barilla’s dry pasta plants and semolina mills consistently meet food safety management systems and international standards. This hybrid position supports Q&T managers, drives continuous improvement, and collaborates across functions to deliver compliant, high‑quality products.

Key responsibilities

• Implement corporate quality and food safety policies (GMP, HACCP, IPM, Food Defense) across plants in Ames, Avon, and Montreal.
• Develop and execute improvement plans, monitor compliance, and lead corrective actions when misalignments occur.
• Organize internal audits, train staff on FSSC 22000, and manage surveillance plans based on risk assessments.
• Analyze complaint data, lot quality indices, and other metrics to identify trends and drive improvements.
• Lead cross‑functional teams to solve problems, support quality control activities, and ensure new product designs meet Q&FS standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemical Engineering, Biology, Chemistry (Master’s preferred).
• HACCP certification and PCQI/FSMA or GFSI Lead Auditor certification.
• Strong organizational, collaborative, and critical‑thinking abilities with excellent communication skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 15% within the US and Canada, with occasional international trips.

Required skills

• HACCP, PCQI/FSMA, GFSI Lead Auditor (FSSC, SQF, BRC) certifications.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, cloud‑based software, and SAP (preferred).
