Purchasing Technician – Full‑time

About the role

The Columbus Technical College Fiscal Operations department is seeking a full‑time Purchasing Technician. You will manage purchase requisitions, create purchase orders, and support the college’s procurement activities while ensuring compliance with State of Georgia policies.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and review purchase requisitions from departments.
• Create and issue purchase orders.
• Support the Purchasing Card Program in line with statewide and college policies.
• Maintain procurement records and documentation.
• Facilitate new vendor setup with the State Accounting Office.
• Assist with asset management and generate purchasing reports.
• Perform additional purchasing and administrative duties as assigned.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least three (3) years of related procurement or purchasing experience.
• Ability to obtain Georgia Certified Purchasing Associate (GCPA) or Georgia Certified P‑Card Administrator (GCPCA) certification within six months of hire.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience using Workday or another enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.
