Finance & Operations Specialist

About the role

The Finance & Operations Specialist supports daily financial operations and builds analytical tools that guide leadership decisions. Reporting to the CFO, this role manages scholarship‑related transactions and assists with dashboard creation and variance reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and track all financial transactions for the Scholarship Granting Organization, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Collaborate with Christian Education Network staff to prepare scholarships, troubleshoot donation issues, and maintain accurate donor receipting.
• Build, update, and maintain dynamic financial reporting and dashboard tools for the CFO and executive leadership.
• Design and monitor financial dashboards tracking KPIs, budget vs. actuals, and cash‑flow trends.
• Prepare preliminary variance analyses and data visualizations for monthly budget review meetings.
• Provide full‑cycle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable coverage, credit‑card reconciliations, weekly bank deposits, and audit documentation support.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
• 3–5 years of professional experience in finance, accounting, bookkeeping, or data analysis; nonprofit experience a plus.
• Exceptional organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to handle confidential information discreetly and work collaboratively.

Required skills

• Proficiency with spreadsheets.
• Experience using QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
• Familiarity with AI tools for streamlining financial workflows.
