Senior Small Business Administration Business Development Officer

About the role

The Senior SBA Business Development Officer leads business development focused on SBA lending and deposit growth, while maintaining a strong market presence in the local community. This role serves as a resource for branch and partner SBA needs and drives new client acquisition.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new and expand existing business banking relationships with an emphasis on SBA and USDA credit, fee income, operating accounts, and treasury/cash management.
• Prospect and service clients for SBA 7a, 504 and USDA loans, managing a portfolio of credit and non‑credit clients.
• Conduct sales calls, credit analysis, loan structuring, and submit SBA loan packages to credit.
• Partner with branch managers, treasury advisors, and investment advisors to generate additional business opportunities.
• Maintain compliance with underwriting guidelines, government regulations, and internal policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Marketing or related field preferred.
• 6‑8 years of SBA banking relationship management experience with formal credit training.
• Consistent record of strong sales performance and ability to lead a team.
• Experience in prospecting, client retention, and community involvement.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of Treasury Management services and SBA loan products (Express, 7a, 504).
