Public Area Attendant (10:00 AM - 6:30 PM Shift)

About the role

The Loews Vanderbilt Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee, is looking for a Public Area Attendant for the 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM shift. The hotel supports 341 upscale rooms, two dining venues and 24,000 sq. ft. of event space, and the attendant keeps the public areas, lobbies, restrooms and common spaces clean and tidy.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and maintain the front area, sweep floors and sidewalks, and clean doors, frames, signs and windows
• Clean and dust lobby areas, and clean and restock all assigned restrooms
• Remove trash from assigned areas and turn lost-and-found items into Security
• Clean and sanitize public and back-of-house areas, and assist with general cleaning of guest rooms
• Use proper chemicals and report maintenance issues, damage or loss to Housekeeping
• Operate and maintain equipment such as vacuums, extractors, buffing machines, brooms, wet-vacuums and upholstery cleaners once trained
• Stock supplies from Receiving, keep the Housekeeping storeroom neat and secure, and turn mattresses
• Complete all daily cleaning tasks for the assigned public area, including cleaning hallways, stairwells, windows, elevators, light bulbs and glassware
• Take dirty linen to the laundry pickup area, bring dirty glasses to Housekeeping at the end of shift, and wash guestroom glassware in the dishwasher
• Perform as Restroom Attendant for special events and as Room Attendant on an emergency basis
• Train new Housekeeping employees and cover other departments as directed

Required profile

• Basic English language skills
• Able to push, stand, stoop, bend and lift up to 25 pounds repeatedly during the shift
• Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
• Positive attitude, teamwork, courtesy and respect toward guests and colleagues
