Produce Sales Manager

About the role

The Chefs' Warehouse, a distributor of food service ingredients serving chefs worldwide, is looking for a Produce Sales Manager. The role oversees all procedures and sales with existing accounts, growing revenue through new sales and increased sales with current accounts. Candidates must live in the assigned geographic sales area.

Key responsibilities

• Compile lists of prospective customers for sales leads from newspapers, directories, ads, trade shows, websites and other sources.
• Travel the assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers, solicit orders and talk to customers by phone.
• Demonstrate products using samples or catalogs and emphasize salable features.
• Quote prices and credit terms, prepare sales contracts and estimate delivery dates.
• Prepare transaction reports, keep expense accounts and track stock levels.
• Enter customer and sales data into the computer database and work with inside sales reps to keep account activity and literature up to date.
• Maintain relationships with purchasing contacts and resolve customer delivery problems.
• Build rapport with potential accounts, overcome objections and close sales; expand existing accounts with new products and services.
• Mentor with Senior staff on products, processes and systems.

Required profile

• One to two years of related experience in restaurant, food sales or professional catering.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and handle tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills; self-starter who learns quickly.
• Must live in the assigned sales area; college degree desired but not required; past experience as a chef highly desired.

What we offer

• Salary between $120,000 and $145,000.
