Procurement Specialist

About the role

A full-time Procurement Specialist is sought to support purchasing and supply chain activities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The role covers sourcing materials, managing purchase orders, coordinating with suppliers and making sure materials are available for production.

Key responsibilities

• Source and purchase raw materials, components, equipment and supplies.
• Create, issue and track purchase orders.
• Obtain and compare vendor quotes on price, quality and lead time, and negotiate pricing, delivery schedules and terms.
• Monitor open orders and follow up on shortages or delivery delays.
• Maintain supplier relationships and identify new vendors when needed.
• Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Quality, Warehouse and Operations, and assist with inventory planning to prevent shortages.
• Resolve incorrect shipments, pricing discrepancies and supplier issues, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier records.

Required profile

• 3+ years of procurement, purchasing, buyer or supply chain experience.
• Manufacturing, fabrication or industrial experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with purchase orders, vendor negotiations and supplier management.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ERP/MRP or purchasing systems preferred.
• Strong Excel, communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.
